Sugar Tropic Tan And Sugar Tropic Tan Blush & Bronzer Duo

Mon, 04/03/2006 - 1:28pm
  • Body
  • Face

Sugar Cosmetics sent us a combo of different items to try. Maybe you got the All Bronzer. Mayber you got the Blush/Bronzer Duo. Maybe you were lucky enough to win the jack-pot and also get their fantastically handy Body/Bronze/Blush brush. I have to go on record that I am confused with make-up trends right now. Specifically the TAN trend. Who am I kidding? A "healthy" tan has never been out of fashion. Being all Irish I have had to come up with different ways to make this "healthy" tan look au natural. If I sit out in the sun my color is the always chic "lobster red". I have self-tanner in sprays and creams. I have subjected myself to a human car paint job where I am sprayed at The Sunset Tan for some color. I have even paid top dollar for a woman to air-brush me (much like a carnival t-shirt) as I stand there freezing and buck-naked for some bronze tones. Tanning beds? Check. Tanning Showers? Check. Orange hue human looking for some love? Check Check.
Nicole Kidman is pale, right? She's hot, right? O.K. Maybe not hot. Maybe pale and perfect porcelain skin. She has the title for pale and beautiful. The rest of us? Not so much. I believe our title is "pale and s ickly looking". Can our quest for a healthy glow be answered by this compact? The packaging is beautiful, this is obvious. Is your packaging as fantastic with a few strokes from the SUGAR? Are you a healthy, sun-free, bronze baby with 30 seconds of work with this product? Or were you an alien mutant sent from the planet faux tan? Ladies please post your sun-kissed findings!

At first I thought this bronzer was great. Little goes a long way and perfect bronzing color for all skin tones. My issue with the powder is that the consistancy is really poor. The entire compact went to pieces during my second time going to use it. It literally fell apart and luckily right over the sink and down the drain. Maybe it was a rare occurance but it was my encounter and I thought you should beware before buying.

I do like this bronzer. Having two colors it's easier to make it look more natural on your skin tone. The colors went on smooth and the brush it came with was fun to use. The shiney gold packaging was interesting, it looked like something from a Ban De Sole commercial in 1985. But I love the large size, it really lasts and you don't need much to get excellent results. Great product for highlighting, blush or bronzing.

Even though I have dark skin, bronzer is top of my list- I get a glow vs. my skin looking greyI love the bronze shade of the Tropic Tan- it was not too red or orange (my biggest petpeeve about bronzers) and it had the right amount of sparkle. This one is perfect to wear in the evening..

This was a fabulous bronzer (Much better than the one I received from Tarte). The color transfers on smoothly and easily. You don't need to use to much and the accent color adds some highlights. The packaging, while bulky, is still really cool and substantial. I am really white, so I love to use bronzers in lieu of blush-- they give a more natural looking color-- and this one did not disappoint.

Seeing as I can't go in the sun anymore (my poor face gets totally red and spotty when exposed to the sun's rays), I need something to help keep me from looking like I have the complection of Dracula. I received the Sugar Tropic Tan Blush and Bronzer Duo and the big, pink brush! Although it is a little strong for my pale skin, in lighter doses (and also combined with a little beige powder)it gives my face a nice, healthy glow. Check it out!

Meg, I concur! My Irish skin is so pale and sickly looking! My skin is so white that I practically glow in the dark. Sugar Tropic tan blush and bronze duo has been my saving grace. I use the blush brush from my Cat Cosmetics brush set to dust on just a little bit for a natural, sun-kissed look. I've had a few people ask me if I've been away on vacation recently, because my skin had a nice tan and glow.I was totally taken aback -- I've never heard the words "your skin" and "tan" in the same sentence. YEAH - if you can't make it, fake it!

I already posted my review of Sugar Tropic Tan Blush and Bronzer Duo, but I just wanted to add another comment to say I have been continually using this product. I use the pink, soft brush, dip it in and blow off the excess, and put it on my face, I have been really happy about the nice glow it brings to my face, especially since I can't tan. I like this product more and more and thought I should share again...

Love this product! Just seeing the shiny copper case gets me going! With just a light brush, you've got a tropical tan that looks real, not orange or over-done. I've been using liquid blush for the last year and I'm not a fan of the powder blush these days, but the blush is a great color that works really well with the bronzer. I look like I just got back from vacation in Hawaii with this product.

When I got the bronzer I was not sure if I would be able to use it because I have olive skin. A friend convinced me to try it out. I love it!!! It is such a wonderful product instead of foundation I just put on some moisturizer and brush on a bit of bronzer and put some blush on my checks and I'm ready to go. I'm so glad I tried it! It gives me that sunkissed look. I will definately reorder some more for next fall and winter

Perfect for the apples of the cheeks. Overall, you get a gorgeous glow. I am an NC30 light olive complexion and this is a great product. Retails for $25 and you get a ton of product.

Whoa who paid $25 for it? Its definitely $22.50 at Sephora! This is a great Bronzer and an awesome price point. I loved it when I was using it (I've since moved on to Cargo - Dark and someday I will break down and buy the $38.50 Vincent Longo Golden Glow. Another story. One problem with the sugar is that since its a pure mineral powder (without Micah for those who are allergic/sensitive) is that it crumbles easily. If you have rubbing alcohol in a spritz bottle, spray the bronzer with alcohol then press the crumbles back together with a kleenix. Voila - like new!

This came at just the right time, right before the launch party. I wore it that night and it looks really natural. A little goes a long way, you have to be very delicate when applying it. I received the bronzer & blush - love them together. The metalic case is very fun and the brush is a great size and has a good feel to it. Would recommend this product this product to all my pale-faced friends.

This bronzer was great because it is very natural. A lot of bronzers out there are too orangey. I am Asian so I like using is it all over and it just gives me the perfect glow. I don’t wear a lot of make-up and when I do I want it to look natural...like I am not wearing make-up, but just looks healthy. The feel of the bronzer is almost like a powder so it also helps with shine, too.

This product was amazing for me when I was uber-tan just getting back from two weeks in Hawaii- gave me an AMAZING glow. Now that I am back to my pasty, pale New York self, I can't use it on my face regardless of what pale powders I blend it with. I didn't get the "fabulous brush," but I have some pretty ridonc-u-lously large brushes, and it still managed to "stick" to my face and create pretty horrible shadows. Even thought the bronzer is totally terrible for my face, it is fantastic for my body- it makes my arms, neck, and decolletage look fabulously glowy! My final say: hate it for my pale face, love it for my tan face, love it for my body tan and pale.

I love the large compact and awesome full brush it came with. I've never used bronzer before, so the first time I put it on I guess I used too much because my husband said "What did you do to your face? You look like the old tanned lady in Something about Mary." So I tried again the next day and viola, a little goes a long way. I look so healthy - the bronzer gave me a little tan, but also brought out pink cheeks and made my skin look really smooth. I use this every day now and I think I'll continue to use it for a long time.

I onlu use bronzer as a blush so I've tried a ton of them. This one is georgeous!! I wanted to keep it really nice so I kept it in the box. Unfortunately the box openned at the back end and the compact literally SLID out onto the floor from my lap and shattered in a million pieces! I have NEVER broken a compact before , even if I threw it in my purse! I was really dissapointed.

I first want to say how much I love the package of this hot product. When I see the shimmery copper glowing case I get excited and can't wait to apply! This weekend a got a tiny bit of sun on my cheecksfrom sitting on my moms deck drinking coffee with her. Then that night we went to dinner and I put on my blush / bronzercombo and all night my parents and hubby commented on how I look tan and my skin looked so good. I think this is my favorite product yet. And being one of the lucky ones that got the brush was really LUCKY! I love this brush so much, it makes my tan all even and perfect. Can you tell I love this one?

Weather report: rainy, gloomy, and blah! But I am looking like eternal sunshine and exuding smoldering sexiness 'cause each day I sweep a thin layer of Tropic Tan on my face and neck. I really, really like the color of this bronzer - not too yellow or too orange!! Tropic Tan also has a fabulous consistency and the mirror in the compact top is good for non-restroom applications. Be careful though: I got too attached to my Tropic Tan and toting it in my bag everyday caused it to break apart, so now it has to stay home. Don't be discouraged though, coverage and staying power are so good, I only need it every AM and I kinda like the loose powder form even better...

First of all, it's a HUGE compact. Almost 4 inches across. And I don't care what anybody says-bigger IS better. But more importantly, it's a really nice, realistic tan. Not at all orange, not too muddy, not too shimmery-just right. I used this on my cheeks and on my cleavage and it gave a really nice sunny glow to the areas I wanted to highlight. I was one of the lucky gals who got the brush too. It's a goodie! It's big and really soft so it distributes the bronzer lightly and perfectly. LOVE these!

I have to point out first that I have become completely pasty white these past 2 years. Normally I have a somewhat olive tone to my skin, but between not seeing the sun all summer and not taking a vacation, any hint of glow that my skin once had has been erased. After using the Sugar compact I might not even have to "fake and bake" for all the wedding parties that I am in this year. The bronzer gives my face such a natural looking radiant tan and smoothed out so nicely over my skin, rather than making me look orange or revealing any pores in my skin like most bronzers do. The blush also did wonders in that it aided in highlighting my hidden cheekbones. One application in the morning leaves me glowing for the rest of the day!

I received the blush/bronzer duo and loved it. I used the bronzer, without the intention of getting the tanned look, because of my dark skin. I used it for the glow. The bronzer left my skin with a nice bronze hue, that I love and can't wait to use this product in the summer. The blush was nice too, but the bronzer definitely had the perfect effect on my skin.

Like many of the posters, I'm a pale gal, too. The Sugar bronzer is a hit. It works with my paleness and gives me a subtle glow. No overdone gold, brown or orange... just right. I tend to have a heavy hand when using bronzers. I guess I get so excited at the thought of adding some healthy color that I overdo it. Half the time I end up washing it all off and doing without. Hooray for Sugars Tropic Tan! With two colors to work with and the light blendable powder, I was able to achieve a healthy glow instead of George Hamilton. The compact is that great - it's a very generous size yet thin enough to fit in your make up bag - plus it's so shiny and pretty! I really love the two colors for mixing just the right shade. I get such a pretty, natural glow for the daytime. And I can use a little more at night for some extras ooomph! The included brush is full and soft and the really blends the powder well. I love the flat bottom that allows me to set the brush up right on my vanity - no rolling away brushes as I'm getting ready! Smart.

Okay, seriously, this product changed my life. I am not kidding. I was that girl growing up tortured in September when all the girls came back tan from summer summer vacation. I am a pale girl... and I live in Southern California! Sugar Bronzer gives me a very naturally looking tan. I feel so much more confident. You know how you always feel good about yourself in the summer when you can wear light makeup because you have that summer glow? This stuff makes you feel just as beautiful without putting your skin through hours in the sun. I also like the pink blusher which accompanies the bronzer.

Thank god for miracles like this when you feel pale and colorless. I got this a couple weeks ago and tried it on immediately since i love bronzers. Cool case...nice color (but definitely the color will be better in the summer). My only problem with this was that the power is a bit loose and if you don't seal up the case, the powder will go everywehre.Other than that, I love the glow it gives. My tip is ...to not put TOO much on. I made a mistake the first time and looked horribly like i faked baked for 3 hours. It's great!!!

I use this every morning now, but a little goes a loooooong way, at least for me. I have a light skin tone and after a Boston winter don't have much color on my face... will probably use more in the summer... but just a little dusting with a puffy brush and I have a great glow that lasts all day. I vary between the bluch and bronzer, depending on outfit and mood. But.. when I dust it on, it really stays, and I love the packaging as well.
